Duty and technical sources

For England and Wales, Fire Safety Order article 17 requires a suitable maintenance system for fire precautions where necessary. Home Office guidance describes weekly user tests and periodic competent-person servicing for installed fire-warning systems; it does not make one service contract or fixed certificate price universally mandatory.

Published price evidence

  • Dale Montague Electrical — Published fire alarm testing and inspection prices: £170 ex VAT up to 20 points, £220 for 21–40, £270 for 41–60; more than 60 needs a quote. Confirm service depth.
  • Safetec Protection — Provider advertises six-monthly servicing from £125 for its Dorset and Hampshire area; starting price, not an upper limit.
  • Paragon Fire and Security — Provider advertises fire alarm servicing from £60 per visit and a combined alarm and emergency-lighting plan from £75 per visit. These are starting prices with different scope.
