Fire alarm servicing cost and quote scope

Dale Montague Electrical publishes fire alarm testing and inspection tariffs of £170 ex VAT for up to 20 points, £220 for 21 to 40 and £270 for 41 to 60. The page requires contact for more than 60 points. Those are one provider’s inspection prices, not proof that a full maintenance contract costs the same.

Decision checkpoint

Use the tier only for its stated scope

Vendor Atlas applies the published DME tier for a single site with no more than 60 points, then shows a stated 25 percent planning buffer. A larger or multi-site system receives no numeric estimate because the source gives no applicable rate.

  • Count detectors, call points, sounders and other points by site.
  • State whether the quote is one inspection visit, recurring servicing or fault repair.
  • Identify monitored links, panels, access, after-hours work, VAT and parts.

What to do next: Send one point schedule and service specification to every provider. Ask each to price visit frequency, tests, report, call-outs, batteries and repairs separately; the estimate is not a supplier quote.

Published price tiers

DME lists £170 for up to 20 points, £220 for 21 to 40 and £270 for 41 to 60, excluding VAT. More than 60 points require a quote. The calculator does not extrapolate beyond that boundary.

Different provider examples

Safetec advertises six-monthly servicing from £125 in its Dorset and Hampshire coverage. Paragon advertises servicing from £60 per visit. Starting prices cannot be used as an upper bound or assumed to include the same tests.

Scope changes price

System category, panel count, monitored connections, device access, repeat visits, fault response and replacement parts must be explicit. A service certificate is not a design compliance assessment.

Published price evidence

Published prices are boundaries, not a market average

Vendor Atlas uses these provider sources only to constrain the deterministic planning model. Dates, regions, inclusions and equipment differ, so the result is not a market benchmark or a live quotation.

  • Dale Montague Electrical : Published fire alarm testing and inspection prices: £170 ex VAT up to 20 points, £220 for 21–40, £270 for 41–60; more than 60 needs a quote. Confirm service depth.
  • Safetec Protection : Provider advertises six-monthly servicing from £125 for its Dorset and Hampshire area; starting price, not an upper limit.
  • Paragon Fire and Security : Provider advertises fire alarm servicing from £60 per visit and a combined alarm and emergency-lighting plan from £75 per visit. These are starting prices with different scope.

What is still missing: awarded quote data normalised to the same asset schedule, access conditions and deliverables. The calculator shows every adjustment so it can be replaced cleanly as that evidence arrives.
